What is a Personal Budget?
A Personal Budget is the money allocated to you, so you can choose your support. The money can be given to you in many different ways:

  • It is an Individual Service Fund where the money is given to a service provider (i.e. a Care Agency) and you tell the provider what services you want from them for this money.
  • Direct Payment means that the money is paid into a bank account that you open for your Direct Payments.

2. Direct Payments
We can offer you to support in enabling you to direct your own care when and how you want it.

What is a Direct Payment?

  • Direct Payment means money is paid into a bank account that you open so that you can manage your own Direct Payments.
  • Money can be given as an: Individual Service Fund to a Care Agency where you ask for the services you want from them for this money.

Self Funded Care - Personal Funds
This applies if you do not qualify for council funding or if you decide not to be financially supported by your council then you can set up and pay for your own care. We recommend you gain specialist financial advice to help you use your money to its best effect and avoid running out of money for other essential living costs.
